Description of Camp

Western IL Youth Camp is located on 72 acres of land on the south east
side of Lake Jacksonville, about 10 minutes from Jacksonville.

We have 2 cabin areas, with 13 cabins and 2 bathhouses combined, a large
dining hall, open-air recreation hall, several fire rings, and open areas for
activities or tent camping capabilities. We also have a winterized building
(Wentz Hall) that can sleep as many as 30 people and has 3 bathrooms, a
kitchen area, large meeting room, and a fireplace.

The majority of our property is wooded with trails in all directions. Some lead to
fire rings, some to beautiful lakeside views, and others to our Pine Forest.
Located in the Pine Forest is a Low Ropes Course which is used to build
teamwork and communication skills among users.

We are utilized by a variety of groups: Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4-H Clubs,
Camp Courage, Camp Care-A-Lot, Family Reunions, Churches, Schools
(elementary - college aged), Businesses, etc. We also offer boating (rowboats
and canoes) along with swimming, fishing, hiking, and tons of fun. We have
weeks in the summer that anyone ages 8-16 can attend and we have weeks in
the summer that individual groups rent our facilities.

We are open year round, so we also have groups that enjoy weekends in the
